Áurea Ana Palace by Eurostars Hotel Company
We don't usually add a second palace-turned-hotel to the same roundup, but Áurea Ana Palace...
Hotel Vision opened in 2020 on Belgrád rakpart, the embankment road that runs along the Pest side of the Danube in Belváros-Lipótváros, two minutes' walk from the water and a minute from the Március 15 tér tram stop. The building rises five floors and holds 91 rooms, a scale that keeps service consistent without turning the place into a convention hotel. Unlike much of central Pest's historic hotel stock, Vision is a modern build end to end, which shows mainly in the rooms: soundproofing, blackout curtains and rainfall showers that an older conversion would have to retrofit around load-bearing walls.
We chose Vision for a simple reason: it was built to look at the river, and it does. The upper tiers — the 73 m² Ambassador Suite, the 78 m² Governor Suite, and a 131 m² two-bedroom Presidential Suite — are oriented and glazed specifically for the Danube outlook, rather than offering a view as an afterthought on a handful of corner rooms. Even the 22 m² Superior rooms carry a French balcony. The effect is a hotel where the view is structural to the design, not a marketing line.
Belgrád rakpart puts guests inside the historic core without the premium of a Basilica-adjacent address: the Danube is a two-minute walk, Váci utca's shopping street is three minutes, the Great Market Hall eight, and Ferenciek tér metro station six. The Március 15 tér tram stop, one minute from the door, reaches most of the rest of the city directly along the river line. It is a location built for walking rather than taxis, with the water as a constant reference point.
Price: €€€ (Premium)
Vibe: modern, riverside, view-led
Rooms: 91 across five floors
Best For: couples and travellers who want a Danube view without a historic-building trade-off
Our Favorite Thing About the Hotel: the two-bedroom Presidential Suite's full-width river outlook
Dining: on-site restaurant and bar, with a well-reviewed breakfast buffet
Amenities: 24-hour fitness centre, on-site spa treatments by reservation, free on-site parking
Attractions: Váci utca, the Great Market Hall and the Danube embankment all within a ten-minute walk
Room categories climb in a straight line toward the water: Superior rooms open onto a French balcony, mid-tier rooms add more floor space and a fuller river angle, and the three suites — Ambassador, Governor and Presidential — are built around floor-length glazing aimed at the Danube. The two-bedroom Presidential Suite is the one worth asking for by name if the group or budget allows it, with enough separation between its rooms to function as a short-stay apartment rather than a single large room.
Breakfast runs as a buffet on a surcharge basis rather than being bundled into every rate, so it is worth confirming at booking if it matters. The hotel is pet-friendly for small dogs, a detail that rules it in for travellers who would otherwise have to choose between the centre and their pet. Spa treatments need advance reservation rather than walk-in booking, and the fitness centre runs around the clock, useful for guests on a different time zone than Central Europe.
Most of central Pest's postcard stops sit within a comfortable walk from Belgrád rakpart, which makes Vision less a destination in itself than an efficient base for exploring on foot. The Liberty Bridge is close enough for an evening walk across to the Gellért Baths on the Buda side, and the riverside promenade itself, with its views toward the Castle District, starts right outside the door. For travellers who plan their days around proximity to the water rather than to any single landmark, this stretch of embankment is as central as Budapest gets.
